Call for papers : Digital Images in Architecture
Thematic dossier coordinated by Sophie Fétro, Gabriele Pierluisi and Andrea Urlberger
"While seemingly objective, the algorithms that generate and manage these images are controlled by the prevailing economic and political powers. This raises questions concerning both their production and their impact on spatial planning (Cathy Rémy, Le Monde hors-série, “Google Maps: La terre par le petit bout du smartphone”). “It is astonishing to think that a private American digital giant holds the power to depict cities, and that this hasn’t sparked greater debate.” (Isabelle Baraud-Serfaty, [online] [https://www.futuribles.com/la-cartographie-au-defi-de-google-maps/].)
